Microneedling

Microneedling is a procedure that uses a bunch of tiny needles to puncture the epidermis. This process works to rejuvenate your skin by boosting collagen production, which in turn reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and improves the overall texture of your skin. Dermaplaning

Also called Epidermal Leveling or Blading, is a safe, effective form of manual exfoliation, using a sterile surgical blade. It represents the latest in skin rejuvenation techniques. Epidermal Leveling safely removes the top layers of dead skin cells, leaving the skin immediately suppler, smoother and more vibrant. In addition, the procedure removes the very fine vellus (“baby” or “peach fuzz”) hairs that waxing often misses. This hands-on class provides professional training, which is essential to performing the procedure safely and effectively. Attendees will also receive Epidermal Leveling tools, and a certificate.

Herbal Wraps

Pure Aesthetics students learn the Herbal Wrap as part of their Aesthetics Program. This workshop is scheduled as needed for groups of salon and/or spa professionals who are seeking advanced training. Add this relaxing aromatic treatment to your spa menu. The herbal wrap will help relieve sore muscles and joints. This detoxification treatment is also a wonderful way to fight off the cold and flu season. All participants will have the opportunity to receive and give a wrap. Participants will also receive a therapeutic herbal blend to take home.
Hands On Laser

This 12-hour curriculum is presented in two 6-hour classes and is designed as continuing education for licensed massage therapists through an accredited massage therapy school. The course introduces foundational theory of oriental medicine, current science around the effectiveness of acupuncture and acupressure, main energy paths through the body and specific effective major acupressure points with their application, and safe practices. It also instructs integration of acupressure into massage sessions and includes assessment of skills and knowledge gained. Client education and connection, clinical reasoning and contraindications will be emphasized.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This course introduces the foundational theory of Oriental medicine, current science regarding the effectiveness of acupuncture and acupressure, the main energy pathways through the body, and specific, highly effective major acupressure points along with their practical applications and safe practices.
Additionally, the curriculum instructs participants on how to seamlessly integrate acupressure into massage therapy sessions and includes formal assessment of the skills and knowledge gained throughout the course. Special emphasis will be placed on client education and connection, clinical reasoning, and identifying key contraindications.
CURRICULUM
This curriculum is specifically designed as instruction for licensed massage therapists seeking to obtain Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from an accredited massage therapy school that aims to promulgate acupressure as a complementary modality. It may also be suitable for inclusion in other related programs for qualified healthcare individuals. The material is to be presented across two 6-hour instructional classes, for a total of 12 continuing education hours.
Scope of Practice Disclaimer:
This course is intended for licensed massage therapists as continuing education. It does not prepare participants to practice acupuncture or any other licensed healthcare profession beyond their authorized scope of practice.
PREREQUISITES
To participate in this course, students must have:

Prior education in musculoskeletal anatomy equivalent to that included in standard massage school instruction.

Completed coursework in massage therapy or equivalent clinical training (e.g., Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, DO, MD, or other recognized bodywork disciplines).

Knowledge of ideal body mechanics for bodywork treatments.

Formal training in professional ethics.

Knowledge of standard bodywork documentation procedures.

The Arizona Board of Massage Therapy confirmed that CEUs earned in this and any future massage workshops sponsored by AHIHA will qualify for continuing education credit toward renewal of the Arizona massage therapy license.
