Arizona Licensure Aesthetics

For admission to the Arizona Barbering & Cosmetology Board Aesthetics licensing examination, applicants must:

 

  • Complete the required hours of Aesthetics/IDL instruction.

  • Obtain a certificate from a licensed school.

  • Submit proper forms.

  • Show proper identification, including a Social Security card.

  • Complete the Arizona Statement of Citizenship or Alien Status for State Public Benefits and provide required documentation.

*Students enrolled in the 720 hours Advanced Aesthetics or Advanced Aesthetics IDL program may apply for the Arizona Barbering & Cosmetology Board Aesthetics licensing examination after completing 600 clock hours contingent upon meeting other requirements, including attendance, academics, and tuition and fees for the entire 720 hours Advanced Aesthetics or Advanced Aesthetics IDL program are paid in full.

If considering admission to a different state’s licensing examination, it is the student’s responsibility to determine what that state’s requirements are. Please be aware that Pure Aesthetics will only provide the necessary requirements and documentation for the state of Arizona. It is advisable to become licensed in the state of Arizona prior to becoming licensed in another state. Transcripts are available through Pure Aesthetics and/or the Arizona Barbering & Cosmetology Board for a fee.

*Arizona Administrative Code R4-10-108 states, “The Board or national professional organization with which
the Board contracts to administer the licensing examination shall conduct the practical section of the licensing examination in English and an applicant shall submit answers in English.” All training at Pure Aesthetics is conducted in English.


**An applicant must pass both the written and practical Arizona Barbering & Cosmetology Board prescribed examinations for licensure. Both exams are pass/fail.


*** An Aesthetics Instructor applicant must provide the board satisfactory evidence that the person is at least eighteen years of age. 


****Arizona Administrative Code R4-10-104 states, “An applicant for licensure by examination shall provide a statement of whether the applicant has ever had an aesthetics, cosmetology, hairstyling, nail technology, or instructor license suspended or revoked in any state of the United States or foreign country”.
